Regional Symposium and Capacity Building: Her Stories, Our Peace

Event Type: Training
Date: May 5, 2025 to May 8, 2025
Venue: Jakarta, Indonesia
In the past year, ASEAN-IPR and ASEAN Women for Peace Registry (AWPR) have been collaborating in implementing the ASEAN-IPR Women in Peace Processes Programme, a research project seeking to build a data compilation on grassroot women peacebuilders and their stories contributing to peace processes in Southeast Asia.
AWPR along with their respective research have spearheaded their national-level research for this Project, where they identified significant women peace actors and their peace stories.
These stories, as the research findings, are planned to be showcased into a digital catalogue, soon to be accessible via the ASEAN-IPR’s microsite. The digital catalogue will be officially launched during the Regional Symposium, another output of this project, which is planned to be held back-to-back with a Capacity Building activity, taking place on 5-8 May 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The Regional Symposium titled “Her Stories, Our Peace: Women’s Journey in ASEAN Peace Processes” will serve as a platform for AWPR members and the identified grassroots women peacebuilders to share their research findings, exchange experiences, and establish networks.
Held alongside the symposium, the Capacity Building activity will serve as a knowledge-sharing platform to support the identified grassroots women peacebuilders, addressing their specific challenges and needs to enhance their impact.
The Women in Peace Processes Programme was made possible with the support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Norway-ASEAN Regional Integration Plan (NARIP).
