UN Women Indonesia Country Office (CO) hosts the ASEAN liaison office which extends support to ASEAN and its Member States in advancing Women Peace and Security (WPS) agenda in line with global normative frameworks. UN Women is implementing the, “Empowering Women for Sustainable Peace: preventing violence and promoting social cohesion in ASEAN” project (ASEAN WPS Project), funded by the Government of Canada, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Korea.

The ASEAN WP project aims to support ASEAN in advancing the implementation of the WPS agenda in, including preventing violence against women and promoting social cohesion in the region. More specifically, the Project will strengthen the capacities of ASEAN institutions and ASEAN Member States (AMS) on WPS. While the Project largely focuses on advancing normative frameworks, capacity building and exchange of knowledge and good practices, it also includes country-level implementation, where synergies between the regional and country-level interventions can be enhanced and leveraged. Simultaneously, the project also aims at strengthening the capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSO) with a focus on women organizations and networks to facilitate their participation in decision-making processes and responses to implement the WPS agenda. Some of the areas of capacity needs identified among the CSO partners includes Results-Based Management (RBM).

The training aims to incorporate numerous case studies and examples evaluating gender equality outcomes. It will also provide step-by-step guidance on using monitoring tools to review data and information collected, with the intention of equipping CSO staff with practical skills in Results-Based

Monitoring and Reporting. Through this approach, the training endeavors to enhance the organization’s program capacity in RBM for CSO partners, particularly in the areas of the empowerment and rights of women and girls. This effort aligns with the overarching frameworks of UN Women’s Strategic Note and the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.

The RBM training aims to:

  1. Support the strengthening of the capacity for Results-Based Monitoring and Reporting for UN Women’s CSO partners in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Timor-Leste through technical and operational guidance.
  2. In particular, the training aims to enhance participants’ understanding of UN Women’s different levels of results, indicators, and effective monitoring and reporting.
  3. Provide step-by-step guidance on monitoring and reporting procedures and tools used by UN Women, as well as introduce an effective monitoring method.
